When Lieve Joris traveled to Cuba in 1997, she was looking for a country that had successfully overthrown its oppressors and built a new, more just society. She found a country that was still struggling to find its way, a country where the revolution was still a work in progress.

Joris's book, The Rebels'Hour, is a travelogue of Cuba during the aftermath of the revolution. It is a unique and personal account of the Cuban people and their struggle for freedom and independence.

Joris traveled to Cuba with an open mind and a willingness to learn. She spoke to people from all walks of life, from government officials to dissidents to ordinary citizens. She visited schools, hospitals, and factories. She attended political rallies and cultural events.

Joris's writing is clear and concise, and she has a keen eye for detail. She brings the Cuban people to life, and she tells their stories with compassion and understanding.

Joris's book is an important contribution to the literature on Cuba. It is a valuable resource for anyone who wants to learn more about the Cuban revolution and its impact on the Cuban people.

Here is an excerpt from the book:

> "I am in Cuba, in the city of Santiago de Cuba, on the eastern tip of the island. I am here to learn about the Cuban revolution, and to meet the people who made it happen.

> I have been here for a few days now, and I have already met some amazing people. I have met old men who fought in the revolution, and young people who are working to build a new Cuba. I have met artists and musicians, farmers and factory workers.

> I have learned a lot about Cuba in the past few days. I have learned about the history of the revolution, and about the challenges that Cuba faces today. I have learned about the Cuban people, and their hopes and dreams for the future.

> I am grateful for the opportunity to be here in Cuba, and to learn about this amazing country. I am inspired by the Cuban people, and their determination to build a better future for themselves and their children."

If you are interested in learning more about Cuba, I highly recommend reading The Rebels'Hour. It is a book that will stay with you long after you finish it.
