In Tightrope Americans, acclaimed journalist and author Stephanie Landsman takes us on a journey into the heart of the widening economic and social divide in America. Through the intimate stories of everyday people, she reveals the hidden toll that inequality is taking on our communities and our collective future.
Landsman's reporting takes us from the Rust Belt to the Sun Belt, from the inner cities to the suburbs. She meets families who are struggling to make ends meet, workers who are losing their jobs to automation, and communities that are being left behind in the new economy. But she also finds stories of hope and resilience, of people who are fighting to create a better life for themselves and their children.
With a foreword by Nobel Prize-winning economist Joseph Stiglitz, Tightrope Americans is a must-read for anyone who cares about the future of our country. It is a powerful indictment of the status quo and a call to action for us all to work towards a more just and equitable society.
