Synopsis

In the heart of the unforgiving Alaskan wilderness, the long-abandoned Ice House holds a dark and forgotten past. Emily, a young woman seeking a fresh start, arrives in the town of Grace Point, drawn by its tranquility and the promise of a new beginning. However, she soon discovers that the town is haunted by its history, and the Ice House becomes the focal point of her own tragic destiny.

Years earlier, two sisters, Maggie and Beatrice, fled their abusive home and sought refuge in the Ice House, hoping to find solace and escape the torment of their past. But their dreams of a better future were shattered by a horrific accident that left one sister dead and the other broken.

As Emily delves deeper into the town's secrets, she unravels the chilling truth behind the tragedy at the Ice House. With each revelation, she becomes increasingly trapped in a web of deception and danger. Time becomes fluid, past and present intertwine, and Emily finds herself haunted by the voices and memories of the sisters.

Smith's characters are richly developed and complex, each harboring their own secrets and scars. Emily's journey of self-discovery and redemption is particularly compelling. Maggie, the eldest sister, is a survivor who has endured unimaginable pain. Her resilience and determination to overcome adversity are both admirable and tragic. Beatrice, the younger sister, represents the fragility of innocence lost and the haunting consequences of trauma.
