In 1980, Rush signed for Liverpool for a fee of £300,000. He made his debut for the club in September 1980, and he quickly established himself as one of the best strikers in the world. Rush was a prolific goalscorer, and he helped Liverpool win numerous trophies, including five league titles, three FA Cups, and the European Cup in 1984.
Rush formed a formidable partnership with Kenny Dalglish, and together they led Liverpool to unprecedented success. Rush was the club's top goalscorer for six consecutive seasons, and he was named the PFA Player of the Year in 1984.
Juventus
In 1986, Rush left Liverpool to join Juventus. He spent two seasons in Turin, scoring 29 goals in 67 appearances. Rush helped Juventus win the Serie A title in 1986/87, and he was named the club's Player of the Year in 1987.
Rush returned to Liverpool in 1988, and he helped the club win the league title again in 1989/90. He left Liverpool for a second time in 1992, and he finished his career with Leeds United, Newcastle United, and Wrexham.
Wales National Team
Rush made his debut for the Wales national team in 1980. He went on to make 73 appearances for his country, scoring 28 goals. Rush was a key member of the Wales team that reached the quarter-finals of the 1988 European Championship.
Retirement
